The Moro Women Development and Cultural Center, Inc. (MWDECC), represented by its Executive Director Baina T. Samayatin, participated the South-South Exchange held in Jakarta, Indonesia on December 27-29, 2014. It was organized and facilitated by the Regional Human Rights Commission (RHRC) with the support of the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP).

MWDECC facilitated the TPMT meeting with women CSOs
On December 5, 2014, the MWDECC facilitated the meeting of the Third Party Monitoring Team (TPMT), the body tasked to monitor, review and assess the implementation of all signed agreements between the Government of the Philippines (GPH) and the Moro Islamic Liberation Front (MILF) especially the Framework Agreement on the Bangsamoro and its Annexes, with the different women CSOs operating Maguindanao, North Cotabato and Cotabato City held at Em Manor Hotel, Cotabato City.
The meeting was conducted to gather the views and concerns of the women CSOs and leaders on the progress of the peace process in pursuit of the TPMT’s monitoring work. The TPMT is an independent body composed of 5 members, i.e. the Chair, an imminent international person who act as convenor and spokesperson; representatives from local and international NGOs nominated by GPH, and representatives from local and international NGOs nominated by the MILF.
MWDECC conducted Community Orientations on MCW and Women’s Rights in Islam
The Community Orientation on Magna Carta of Women and Women’s Rights in Islam was organized and facilitated by MWDECC on December 2-6, 2014 through the support of United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) in partnership with Regional Human Rights Commission (RHRC).
It aimed to educate two hundred forty (240) women leaders from the four conflict-affected barangays of Maguindanao, i.e. Zapakan and Pidsandawan of Rajah Buayan municipality, and Mamasapano and Manungkaling of Mamasapano municipality.
